Course offer

All classes are designed to guide you step by step toward working independently. They are structured around preparation, an introduction to safety aspects, wood carving techniques, tool sharpening, and sanding/oiling your finished piece (if desired).

Materials are included once per class. If you would like to start a second piece, additional wood can be purchased on site. There is also a tea break to relax your hands and exchange ideas with others.

To finish a small spoon during the class, please plan for around 5 hours of workshop time.

. In the 'Basic' course, you will learn the fundamental carving techniques using a spoon. The course is aimed at those who have no previous experience in woodworking or who have limited time.  Materials for one workpiece are included. 

. 'Starter' takes place for 2.5 hours on two consecutive evenings. During this time, you will begin carving a spoon or pen holder. Materials for one workpiece are included.

. 'Weekend' is structured like the ‘Starter’ course and is aimed at those who want to take time to carve at the weekend. Carve your own little break in a small group of max. 3 participants! Materials for one piece of work included.

. 'Soap carving' is a simple and accessible way to explore freehand carving. Soap is soft, homogeneous, and reacts surprisingly similarly to wood, making it ideal for practicing knife control and cut direction. With just a knife and a bar of soap, small handmade objects and gifts quickly take shape.
